ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN
a.k.a. Novaguard EHG
Using Ethylhexylglycerin as a preservation booster allows us to achieve broad-spectrum protection with a lower overall preservative concentration, resulting in formulas that are gentler on skin while remaining safe and stable.
MECHANISM
Glyceryl ether that disrupts the cell membrane surface tension of microorganisms, significantly boosting the activity of primary preservatives like Phenoxyethanol. Allows for lower total preservative loads.
