Alpha-Arbutin is our brightening active of choice for its excellent safety profile and proven efficacy. Unlike older brightening agents, it works by precisely blocking the melanin-production enzyme without harming melanocytes.

MECHANISM

Alpha-glucoside of hydroquinone. Competitive inhibitor of tyrosinase — binds the active site without being oxidized. 10x safer than hydroquinone with no melanocyte cytotoxicity. Also inhibits TRP-1 and TRP-2 for dose-dependent melanin reduction.
